Iconstorm makes IG Metall locations visible on the Internet
Iconstorm, the Frankfurt agency for Markentechnik, developed interactive map of Germany for the IG Metall website. The map convinces with both its visual design and the technical realisation.
In cooperation with IG Metall Iconstorm developed an interactive map of Germany that has multiple navigation functions (Slider-Zoom, Drag & Drop, Mouse-Scrolling) and enables to identify certain areas like administration, educational institutions and region management. The user navigates intuitively via mouse. For fast and effective results one can either search logically via post code or visually using the map. These two ways shorten the distance to the user and the digital trademark can smartly be experienced.
The tool accesses a central data base that is connected to specific coordinates via a XML interface, in order to display the various locations. An external XML data file controls the tool. This smart solution is cost-saving as to the maintenance of the locations in the system. For example, when a location changes address, the latest is entered in the main data base. The application then shows at once the new location on the map as well as the corresponding contact data. The modular and web optimised application was programmed with Flash and XML. The application can be used for the national, European and international illustration of locations.
The cooperation of Iconstorm and IG Metall includes the support of the complete web appearance on the Internet, Intranet and Extranet.
